Maxell SQ 90
High Position (Type II) blank audio cassette
3-pack budget-tier, high-bias cassette line manufactured between 2002 and 2005 primarily for the European retail market.
“SQ” stands for Super Quality. It serves as an entry-level Type II tape designed for CD recordings and general everyday music use

Audio Characteristics: Provides standard high-bias performance with higher output and lower hiss compared to normal Type I ferric tapes.
Tier Performance: While it carries the “High Position” designation, it is structurally a budget alternative. Audio enthusiasts note that its performance is lower than premium Maxell formulations like the XLII or XLII-S, aligning closer to the vintage UDII line.
